Cabin Part II

So for some reason I’m having trouble with tumblr and it wouldn’t allow me to edit my post and kept deleting pictures and text I had written so I decided to just do 2 posts. SO here is more pictures from the cabin.

Brad was throwing a ball at Alex and he was trying to avoid being hit. (Boys and their games.)

Even at the pool on vacation you can get a time out….

At one point I looked over at Alex just in time to see him lift his swim shorts above the water. Apparently he jumped and they came off. Unfortunately I did not have my camera ready but he sure thought it was funny.

This one is for those in Africa that want to see snow. Notice the top of the red truck behind Gavin.

We stopped to take pictures at the train tracks and got lucky to have a train come while we were there.

I was going to add one last picture but tumblr wont let me. It was a picture of me and I was adding it just to prove that yes I was on this trip as well. Oh well, I guess you’ll just have to take my word for it.

Cabin

I thought I should finally blog about our trip to the cabin before I get another phone call from my father in law asking me to post pictures of our trip. It has been almost a month since we went so I am a little behind. We also didn’t take as many pictures this year, instead of me sitting on the sidelines taking pictures I actually participated in the activities. We checked in on a Saturday and stayed for a week. Monday we spent the day in Kalispell shopping. We found Brad some clothes (for whatever reason clothes for him are WAY cheaper in the states), we got clothes for the kids and found some cheap deals on snow gear for them for next winter. We ate at McDonalds for one of the two meals we ate in town and they really messed up our order which left us with 4 extra sandwiches and a huge thing of fries that we didn’t order. When I took the food back to them and said there had been a mistake made they gave us what was missing from our order (Brads sandwich) and told us to keep the rest. We spent a lot of time at the pool and hiked up to the waterfall a couple times. We ran back into town Friday morning for a couple hours just to pick up a couple things we didn’t think to get on the previous trip in.

School

There was an award ceremony at the elementary school today, they do it every reporting period to acknowledge the kids that got A’s in there core subjects. I was informed that both Alex and Sam would be receiving awards however when it was all said and done Sam was the only one called up. I later checked with the school and they realized they had missed Alex so we did pictures of him after school (they put the pictures up at the school and I put them up for family).

They forgot Alex’s name so I added it.

Gavs Birthday

So Gavin turned 5. I’m not sure who gave him permission to do that but he did it. After dropping the kids off at school he and I went with our neighbor, Mildred, shopping. She had taken Alex and Sam shopping for their birthday and so it was Gavs turn and boy did she spoil him. After we finished our shopping at Toys R Us she took us for brunch at Cora’s which was excellent. Brad worked late that day but I let the kids stay up until after he got home so we could do presents and cake. The day after his birthday we took him to Red Robin for dinner.

Sledding!

This weekend we took the boys sledding. We just took them to the small hill behind our house by the school but they had a blast! It was a nice warm day and they soon shed their coats.

Sams Birthday!

While we were in Cardston we celebrated Sams birthday. Grandma Froc had gone to Utah and was gracious enough to let us use her house which worked out so good. Seriously I started to panic when I added up how many people would be there, I’m too used to my small house but Grandmas house handled it wonderfully with no one feeling crowded! (We had 31 people in total.)

Cardston

We hadn’t planned on going to Cardston during the Christmas/New Years or even anytime in the first couple months of 2013 but we got word that Grandpa Marcels health was failing fast and Brad was able to get a long weekend so we took a trip down the end of December to see him one last time. Randy and Alanna were out of town and they allowed us to stay at their house which worked great, it allowed us to have somewhere else to go so that Grandpa didn’t get overwhelmed by the kids. 3 weeks later we took a week and went back to Cardston for Grandpa Marcels funeral. We stayed at Randy and Alannas for the first few days since Grandmas house was full and then when everyone (including Grandma) left we moved into her house for the remainder of our trip. Poor Randy and Alanna and their kids having all of us at their house! All the boys slept in Everett and Anthonys room and Brad and I took over poor Julias room, Brad on her bed and me on an air mattress on the floor. Randy and Alanna got the girls in their room. It was great to get to spend time with them though and we appreciated their hospitality.

Christmas

So it looks like I need to do some updating. So I’ll start with Christmas.

Alex wrote an apology to Santa and the reindeer.

Brad had the boys walk down with their arms folded….

… and sit on the couch until they were given the go ahead to get their stockings.

More presents.

Snow and Baking

So there is a huge snow pile out behind our house that the kids like to play on. Alex and Sam were trying to move a large chunk of snow and so Alex took his coat off and they used it to drag the chunk across the parking lot.

Sam almost on the top of the pile.

The kids made sugar cookies.

20121217-162-4.jpg

My friend taught me how to make turtles (they’re way better than the ones you can buy in the store!)

20121217-162-10.jpg

We made monster cookies too of course but I neglected to take pictures of those.
